Name and Symbol
Our Name and Symbol
An approximate translation of Vox Feminarum (shortened to VoxFemme) from Latin to English denotes women's voices, women's words, women's work.
The organisation aims to address the issues affecting and effecting women's lives and to be a voice for women and women's issues, activities and challenges both in the UK and further afield. Human rights, equality sisterhood and unity are at the heart of Vox Feminarum activity.
Our Symbol
Our symbol depicts female figures intertwined with and integral to the sacred tree of life and enclosed in a circle. The tree of life is a universal symbol whereby the three main systems of roots, trunk and branches parallel human development of body, psyche and spirit. The tree alludes to the interconnection between all life on our planet, purity, evolution and constancy. The circle, a key aspect of the logo, denotes continuity and the inherent need to pass forward and inspire future generations. Our logo symbolises the strength of women and girls when they gather together to create something wonderful, demonstrating the connection between humanity and the natural world and the need to both sustain life and achieve personal growth.
